By 2023, the UN‘s aviation agency predicts that global air passenger demand will increase by 3% from 2019 levels on most routes, quickly returning to pre-pandemic levels. As previously noted by ICAO statistical analysis, the air passenger forecasts ICAO is announcing today build on momentum toward recovery in 2022.
A major global forecast has been published by ICAO for the first time since China abandoned COVID-19 travel restrictions last month. It was predicted by the airlines association IATA back in December that the global economy would recover fully to 2019 levels by 2024.
